Pictorial account of The University System of Georgia (including Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah) Faculty-Devopment Seminar on International Education
The University System of Georgia Faculty conducted an educational trip to China in the hopes of learning and sharing. Many of our experiences will be presented in this homepage. Since my focus was on the medical aspects, I toured several hospitals both urban and rural, as well as interviewing many medical personnel. Hopefully, our common humanity will be fostered and a better understanding our two countries will be exhanced.
We arrived in Shanghai on July 2nd after many hours in flight.
We stayed at Nanjing Normal university (NJNU) and attended lectures and seminars led by faculty from NJNU and other universities. The topics covered included China's physical geography and its relation to population; literature, music and theater; painting and architecture; cuisine and festivals; and philosophical and religious traditions. In addition, I visited several medical facilities throughout China in order to gain an understanding of the health resources of the country.

Many field trips were conducted during our 30 day stay. We toured Wuxi, Lake Tai, Beijing and Yangzhou. Of course, the highlight of our trip was the climbing of the GREAT WALL of CHINA.
Many FIELD TRIPS were conducted to WUXI, LAKE TAI, and BEIJING. During my tours of rural and urban hospitals/clinics, the medical and nursing staffs were most generous to me.
At the end of our trip, we took an unforgettable cruise down the Yangzee River.
